Great Conversation

In memory of Ennio Presutti *

The appreciation expressed by those participating in the Aspen Institute Italia Seminars led to the Institute’s decision to augment its professional development offerings with this additional initiative starting from 2013.

Taking its inspiration from the Aspen Institute Italia Seminars, the Great Conversation provides a forum for discussing universal issues and values based on readings of works by contemporary and classical thinkers. The aim is to stimulate the kind of in-depth cultural analysis that educes universal values and ideals capable of inspiring a modern and informed approach to leadership. The event, conducted exclusively in English, takes the form of a Socratic debate prompted and guided along by expert Aspen Institute moderators.

The proceedings are significantly enriched by the diversity of the geographic, personal and professional backgrounds of the 25 or so participants, which contributes towards cultivating an international outlook on leadership and promoting discourse between different cultures, with a view to identifying and building on shared ideas, knowledge and interests.

Aspen Institute Italia advises that those expressing an interest in participating will not automatically be entitled to receive an invitation to attend. The Institute reserves the right to approve any such requests based on available spaces.
